Title: Taken by Desire

Series: Demonic Desires, Book 1
Author: Valerie Twombly
Release Date: May 18, 2015
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Greydon has two important missions: Find his brothers and rescue his people. His duty becomes complicated when he’s forced to beg a human to save his life.
Aimee Jarvis always considered her bookstore a detour to bigger things. Little did she realize her next stop would be the intriguing world of a demon prince. Yet, she finds the dangerous Greydon alluring.
While their attraction continues to burn, they both deny what their hearts already know. It will take the mystery of an ancient civilization and a shocking discovery for them to admit their desire.
Greydon and Fang checked the perimeter of the compound to be sure there was no trouble. Greydon didn’t trust Zolar, even if it was impossible for the god to enter. It would only be a matter of time before the god succeeded in finding a way in.
“So, how do you feel knowing that Aimee is part demon?” Fang asked.
Greydon shrugged. “How am I supposed to feel?”
The demon protector snorted. “You have the fucking hots for her. Why won’t you simply admit it?”
Greydon stopped outside the front door to the palace. “Just like you to speak what’s on your mind.”
“Will you deny it?” Fang raised a brow.
Greydon laughed. “No, I guess I’m not.”
“Well that’s good because her scent is all over you. So, what are you going to do about it, or have you already?”
“I don’t know.” He opened the door, crossed the threshold with Fang on his heels and immediately sensed Aimee’s restlessness. He was driven to find her. “Fang, I have something I need to do.”
“Of course you do.” The demon walked in the other direction, laughing to himself.
“I’m glad he finds this humorous,” Greydon mumbled under his breath as he followed both Aimee’s scent and the pull his tie had to her.
Seconds later, he found himself standing in the doorway of the expansive library, staring at her as she stood in front of the fire. The black yoga pants formed to every inch of her lean body and the pink tee allowed her midriff to peek out.
“You look far away.”
She jerked and spun to face him. “I didn’t hear you. I wasn’t tired so thought I’d come in here.”
He walked into the room and made himself comfortable on the couch in front of the fireplace. “Something bothering you?”
She rubbed her arms as if cold, but he knew better. She was anxious about something. He could smell it. “I’ve been thinking. I want to help you, but I’m not sure how. Maybe you can guide me in the right direction?”
He cocked his head and stared at her, then patted the seat next to him. “Come sit and we can discuss it.”
She plopped down beside him and stared straight into his eyes. “I want to get one thing straight. I know you think that your attraction to me is from the blood bond, and maybe it is. However, I’m attracted to you as well and I have no bond to blame. I liked the kiss, and well, I hope you’re not discouraged from doing it again.”
At a loss for words, he figured the best place to start was with her request to help. “Okay, let’s deal with one thing at a time. I think you might be a big help in deciphering our society. We’re taught when we are very small about this world and what happened here. However, there are many gaps. You studied ancient languages and have a love for old books.”
She nodded. “I think I know where you might be going with this. You want me to do some digging around here to see what I can learn?”
“Would you mind?” he asked, watching her eyes light up and a big smile spread across her lips. He realized he liked seeing her happy.
“Absolutely! I would be honored. I have to admit, it would also give me a chance to learn more about my supposed heritage.”
“I guess you probably have a lot of questions. I know I sure as hell do. In the morning, Fang and I plan to go back to the compound where you were held, and see if we can locate the others.”
Aimee stared off into the flames. “I’m sure by now they know I’m gone.” Her pleading gaze came back to meet his. “You have to save the other humans there too. God only knows what they’ve done to them.”
The need to provide comfort coursed through him so he brushed his thumb down her cheek, desiring the intimate contact. “I’ll do my best, but you have to understand. My people, and especially my brothers, come first. After that I will not hesitate to save who I can.”
“Of course I understand, and I wouldn’t expect any less.” She leaned into his palm and desire darkened her hazel eyes.
He couldn’t stand it anymore, so he leaned in and brushed his lips across hers. He wanted more, and even though she’d admitted being attracted to him, he still held back. However, it took him by surprise when she placed her palms on his chest and pushed him back into the couch. Her lips never broke contact with his and when he could go no further, she wrapped her arms around his neck. Her tongue pressed and he opened, allowing her to sweep in and taste him. She positioned herself between his spread legs and the next thing he knew, she was grinding against his swollen erection.
She laced her fingers in his hair as her tongue continued to plunder his mouth. Never before had he given control to a woman. He wondered why, since he was loving every second of it.
He slid his hands down her back and cupped her ass, digging his fingers into the firm flesh. She moaned into their kiss and pressed harder against him. Heat radiated between her thighs and caused his shaft to ache. He needed both his cock and his fangs buried deep inside her, but damn he had to stop this and quickly.

***Warning: Contains strong language, violence and scenes of an explicit nature***

Most fairy tales end with a happily ever after.

This is not a fairy tale. He is not her Prince Charming about to whisk her away into the sunset. This is a story about betrayal, lust, desire and, ultimately, revenge…

And revenge can only lead to one thing.

He was my stranger, my visitor, my shadow in the corner of my room. He stalked me, watched me, knew everything about me. But all I could do was sit and wait. I waited for him to visit me night after night. He was becoming my addiction, my craving, my obsession. He knew every inch of me, but I knew nothing about him.

His calls himself Lotus and, as crazy as it sounds, I think I’m falling in love.

I wanted to take her, possess her, dominate her, and ruin her. I wanted to ravish her, please her, and consume her until I couldn’t take much more of her.

She will want me to kiss her. She will want me to hold her all night so that she feels a connection with me. I would make it so that she would seek me out in the dark. The one that satisfies her ultimate fantasy. A stranger who sneaks into her room. Someone who gives her the ultimate pleasure, but also seeks to give her ultimate pain. Pain she has never had to endure. Pain that will eat away at her until there is nothing left.

She was my nemesis, I was her lotus. And payback was a bitch.
How could anyone move on from a betrayal so devastating, it cut down to the bone and rooted itself deep within? You could never forgive such heartache…

Or could you?

From the moment Tyler was six, she fell in love with that cocky eight-year-old boy with the black spiky hair, captivating blues eyes, and scruffy uniform. From the moment he punched a boy for hurting her, Tyler knew there was no going back. They were always meant to be together…

Then everything changed. The stage was set like a tragic Shakespearean play, and Tyler’s and Dean’s world—as they knew it—had ended.

Or had it?

My name was Jessica now. I faked my own death, changed my identity, and moved thousands of miles across the ocean just to escape the one man I would never get out of my heart. I had a four-year-old son I adored more than anything in the world. On one fateful, horrific night, the life I knew disappeared in the blink of an eye. I left people behind. People I cared about. People I would never forget. People I loved.

But had I truly moved on?

No one said leaving behind the one man you had loved since you were six would be easy. I lived life day-to-day. I even met a man and tried to settle down. Evan was a man any woman would desire. So why could I not love him the way he obviously loved me? Why couldn’t I move past the dark-haired, blue-eyed boy who consumed my every thought? I may have left him, but he had never truly left me.

I could never love another man. Dean made sure of that the day he breezed into my life. I was only half a woman now. I had been broken and bruised by the one man I thought I could always love and trust. How could I let go of something like that? I suppose I just had to. I was just getting by with each day that passed. I was coping. I was managing, and that was keeping me from falling apart.

But then disaster struck again. And it was on that day…

Everything changed.

You can’t hide forever, Tyler. I will always be hunting you, always be searching, and will never give up. If there was ever one certainty in your life, it was that. You slipped through my fingers, not once but twice. You took my heart with you when you left me that day. No amount of alcohol, women, or punching bags would block you from my mind. You couldn’t be dead. I wouldn’t allow you to be dead. You’re out there somewhere. I must congratulate you that you had evaded me for this long. You always were a smart girl. How could I not have fallen in love with you? You did escape me this time, but I will find you, Tyler. I promise you that. And when that day comes…

I will finally make you MINE.
                                                      REVIEW FROM MISMOUSEY
I received an ARC from the author in exchanged in for an honest opinion. This is Mismousey] very opinion of Redemption by Jamie Roberts.
Upon opening this ebook up an start reading it I have to say that the author Ms Roberts, had caught my attention right from the start. I was pulled into the story from the very beginning. The way in which the author – Jamie Roberts takes pen to paper and describes not only her characters but the scenes and the story line is truly amazing. To bring a story out what could be considered as today’s new’s. And by that I mean- you have someone that is running an hiding away from everyone they love so that they can not be found. Because if they do – the ones they love could be harmed.
The way in which in the author brings her style to paper is truly her own. She has her own way writing and describing every little detail and scene to the point that you are able to picture them right before your eyes.
Redemption is about a young women who is running an hiding from a man that was in her past. One that hurt her and brought pain with him. Tyler runs and hides from Dean. Years have passed they only that Tyler is able to have any contact with her parents with thru the lawyer. The reason is so that Dean is will not find her or son. When Dean is a round is brings trouble. She doesn’t fear him- as she know he love her. She just doesn’t trust him any more. Tyler who is now going by the name of Jessie – just does not want to allow Dean back into her life again.
Tyler’s son is in trouble – she calls her parents – doesn’t stop to think that Dean that would have the phone tapped. And her parents followed. They come running to her to an their grandson.
During through the course of time Tyler had been hiding from Dean. She had been keeping a secrete from him . One that she did not ever want him to know about, That he had a son- Jeremy. When he had hurt her so bad before he was born- she just could not bring herself to ever to him tell about his son. She had to keep him safe at all cost!!
Will Tyler finally allow Dean back into her life?? Will she tell son who his father actually is ?? What happens to her to bestie ?? Is she is able to finally put the past behind her with no regrets??
Redemption has a lot of twists and turns in it.. This book is written for adults over 16 . and Mismousey gives it a firm rating of 50 out 5 stars.
