OMG THE EATERS ARE HERE!!
I was very lucky when I received an ARC from the author Taylor Lavati in exchange for an honest opinion. The book that I am speaking of is her recently published one- “ THE LAST LEGACY”
This is Mismousey’s very honest opinion of her most amazing and magnificent ZOMBIE book ever. Now I have never been one to read books about zombies. But must say – after reading this one, I intend to add them my reading list. Mismousey has always been one to try reading all books with an open mind. And I am very happy that I do. Now that being said. Let me tell you how I feel about the authors writing skill.
Ms. Lavati’s has such a creative mind and skill and she is able to show the reader exactly what is happening to the point that you believe you are right there. You believe – you are there with them and it is happening to you. You find yourself running from the zombies and hiding for your life.
Once she has picked up her pen and taken it to paper you are able to see her creative juices flow unto the paper. Her work and storytelling – in my opinion is like Stephen King. She is just that great with this thriller of “THE LAST LEGACY”
Ms Lavati is also the author of the Curse series, Wingless, Reliant Love. If you have not read any of her books. I suggest you do. She is an amazing and very talented –gifted writer. Now let’s get on with a tidbit of “THE LAST Legacy”
The Last Legacy is about a young women by the name of Lana- she has no family. Her neighbor next door has a noisy little Chihuahua she calls snippy. Now on her way home from work this creepy ole man asked her if she had heard what they had been saying on the news. That they were going to war. As she got off the bus and started walking to her house- she felt the ground move. It was like an earthquake had hit. Once Lana had made it into her house – she turned on her tv set. There was the news lady yelling and warning everyone to stay indoors. Bombs are being dropped across America containing lethal toxins. We are just getting word of.. then everything went blank on the screen. No reception- no anything. Lana jumped up locked all her doors and windows. She barracked herself – placed towels in the cracks where she could. Lana sneaks outside feels the ground rumble and hides. But men find out and want to know why she is outside. She should be inside- they tell her go inside and hide not to come out and if she see anyone with red eye’s to kill’em.
She runs indoors and locks herself in There she hides until a group of men find her. One particular by the name of Jim. He actually finds her first before the rest of the guys. And tells her to do what he says. He is trying to protect her without telling her and letting on to the guys. If they knew they would kill them both.
Now – we have Lana and Jim together. They try to get away from the group. The group has plans for Lana – as they only want to take turns with her. Finally Jim gets them away- as they are running an, hiding trying to save themselves. They pick up strays along the way.
Will they be able to make it to safety?? Will the zombies get them?? What happens to Jim and Lana?
In order to find the answers to these questions and others. You will need to read this FANTASTIC-TERRIFIC-THRILLER-OMG IS IT A HOT READ OF THE YEAR!! It captures your attention from the very first page. Keeps you spellbound all the way through it. You will not be able to put this book down till have finished reading it. Then you find yourself wanting more of the story. I recommend this book for all readers. Mismousey gives this book a very firm and I do mean a very firm rating of 60 out 5 stars.

Dahlia

I knew I should have listened to my inner voice. I should never have said yes to helping out my friend, but I did, and the Russian with the dangerous eyes shocked me by how easily he stirred outrageous desires in my body and made me lose complete control. I did the only thing I could. I walked (all right, I ran) away to the sound of his cheap parting shot, ‘you’ll be back when you need my help.’

But I haven’t been able to run away from him in my dreams. God knows I’ve tried. Then something unthinkable happens. My sister goes missing while on a backpacking trip, and the ruthless predator is the only one who can help.

He sits in his study, a beautiful, powerful man with eyes cold enough to freeze my blood.

He says he can help, but nothing is for free …

Zane

She ran like a spooked deer, but I always knew she’d be back.

Now she thinks she can just waltz in here and pretend like nothing’s happened. I’m not buying that bullshit. We both know why she’s here and what she really wants from me.

She can’t get my taste out of her mind.

She wants me to satisfy the aching desires that have gripped her body ever since I made her cum on my fingers. Every time she closes her eyes she thinks of what I could do to her.

But I’m not a man given to doing favors. I’m an opportunist. There’s always a price for my help.

As soon as we are alone I lose my shit. This, as far as I am concerned, is the last straw. I’m out of here. I’ve had enough. I didn’t sign up for this bullshit. The deal was he doesn’t do anything I don’t like, or the deal is off. He just did something I detest. I absolutely will not allow him or any other man to talk to me like that. No matter how hungry my body is for him, I simply won’t allow such abuse. Maybe I’m not built to be someone’s sex toy. I’m too independent and free-spirited to be anybody else’s side kick. He can go find himself another pliable sex toy to bully.

‘You’re an arrogant bastard, Zane. How dare you speak to me like that in front of other people?’ I fume, striding towards the door.

He stands in my way magnificent and menacing. ‘I’ll speak to you how I like. I own you.’

I gasp. ‘Well, I’ve got news for you. You don’t own me.’

‘Yes, I fucking do,’ he snarls. His arm shoots out and he yanks me to him.

My new shoes lift off the ground and my body slams into his, knocking all the wind from my lungs. Stunned, I stare up into his furious face. There is a muscle ticking at the side of his jaw. His eyes are impenetrable as his head swoops down, and his lips crush mine in a hungry kiss.

His mouth is hot and wild.

Intoxicated, I open my mouth and emit a low moan. H is tongue forces its way in instantly. The kiss is my salvation and my torment. It is more than anything I could have imagined. It is magic; like that time I sat on a hill right in the middle of a summer storm and saw the lightning crash through the sky and felt it in my veins.

He draws my tongue into his mouth and sucks on it. I feel as I am floating on air. No matter what happens after this, I know I will carry the memory of this first kiss for the rest of my life. I will die with it still on my lips.

Like an addict my arms reach up and tangle helplessly around his strong neck.

A bolt of lightning snaked from the sky and hit the ground in front of her. The thunderclap that shattered the air was deafening. Gwynneth slammed on her brakes and skidded. It was a slow skid, or it seemed to be. Spinning around and around in a circle, she felt like she was watching herself from afar. Time felt like it was slowing. Oddly enough, she found herself wondering if there would be white or red flowers on Hannah’s casket. Or maybe none at all.

Reality hit her as Gwynneth smacked her face against the steering wheel. Pressing her fingers lightly to her throbbing temple, she winced. She’d forgotten to wear her seatbelt. “Shit!” Thankfully, she was in one piece. Gwynneth opened the car door. Lightning bathed the area in a flash of blue-white light. Icy rain hit her skin. Stupid! You left your jacket back at the funeral home. She checked the tires. The back one was flat and on top of that, her car was stuck in a ditch. “Great.” She had no spare tire and no idea which way led back to the retirement home. Her headlights cast a weak glow through the rain. Soaked to the skin and shivering, Gwynneth peered into the darkness. A muddy road meandered across saturated fields and off into nothingness.

She sloshed back to her car and quickly turned the engine off. I don’t need a dead battery on top of a flat tire. “Okay, Gwen,” she said aloud. “You need to figure out what to do.” Rain ran in rivulets down her face, and her tie-dyed T-shirt stuck to her like a second skin. I’m a soggy, shivering rainbow. Cursing the fact that her cell phone wasn’t charged, she started to walk. “Suck it up, Gwen. It rains in Oregon too.”

Intermittent lightning illuminated the area like the flash of a camera. A snapshot of a road to nowhere. Disconcerted, Gwynneth hoped she was walking in the right direction, at least. Her teeth were chattering so hard that she was in danger of biting her own tongue. Thunder rolled up her spine and along her scalp like probing fingers.

Her thoughts wandered back to Hannah. A diary. I wonder what she wrote about. She wouldn’t read it, of course. It was private. I’m sure she just wants me to throw it away so her children don’t, either. A pang of loss sliced through the cold, Gwynneth shook it off. If I could only turn back time, I’d tell her how much our time together meant. Hannah had always encouraged her to start painting again, but also understood why Gwynneth couldn’t.

A loud “crack” sounded and an iridescent white light surrounded her. Two things registered: a searing pain that ripped down her back and the ground being pulled away at an alarming speed.

* * * *

Blackness.

Pain shot through the back of Gwynneth’s head as she opened her eyes. Somebody was standing over her. She tried to focus on the face, but it hurt too much. A cool hand slid across her forehead. She opened her eyes again.

Pale, almost white eyes. High cheekbones, aquiline nose, and a well-shaped mouth. Long white hair. Ageless. Beautiful, like a Michelangelo. All of those details registered with clarity before agony ripped through her body. She arched her back and cried out. The man murmured something into her ear that she couldn’t understand. She could feel the vibration of his voice and his breath on her neck as he gathered her in his arms. She opened her eyes and saw lightning fork to the ground silently behind him. She blacked out again.
