Calisto had never been a fan of pain, but he found it provided a certain relief.
It was a high that couldn’t compete with anything else he experienced. That was why he fought bare-knuckled, why he drove fast, despite knowing he might crash, and why he still enjoyed looking at Emma Donati—no matter her current status.
Pain felt good.
He might have been a fool for doing so, but as long as he got what he wanted from it, he didn’t really care.
When he fought, he was given release. When he drove, he was given freedom. When he looked at Emma, he was given memories.
All of them brought a certain level of pain. All three might kill him someday.
Calisto glanced at Emma, taking her in again when she didn’t know he was looking.
He realized then that only one might actually be worth dying for.

Emma Donati

Emma kept her gaze on the book in her lap, pretending like there wasn’t an argument going on across the room. She had become terribly good at acting like she didn’t hear.
Calisto watched her out of the corner of his eye while he argued on with Affonso.
She was too focused on Calisto to care about their fight.
His anger. The tightness of his jaw. Searing soul-black eyes.
The two men were not the same. They might have shared blood, but their hearts were entirely different. One man never let her out of his sight when he was nearby. The other acted like she didn’t exist.
This was what it was like, she realized, to be in love with someone she couldn’t have.
Calisto Donati would never be hers.
This wasn’t a fairy tale that would end happily.
They weren’t star-crossed. They were impossible.

I received an ARC from the Author Bethany Kris in exchange for an honest opinion of her book THIN LINES. This is Mismousey very honest opinion of her terrific and outstanding mafia romance THIN LINES.

Having read the first book in this series- I had to read this second book. Book 1 & 2 each end in cliff hangers. This series is a trilogy – and is one hot one that you must read. From the moment you open the cover- this very talented author has you captured. You as the reader are held hostage till the very end – and are left hanging wanting more of this delicious story. As Ms Kris takes her pen to paper  to create this mind blowing story. The way in which she has created her characters- with such detail- depth-raw emotions and feelings. You are able to picture them right there next to you going through there everyday chores. As for the scenes in the story – Ms. Kris has defined them to the smallest detail. Right down to the smallest detail- when Emma goes through emotional  turmoil not only are you able to picture it but you can see it and feel it.

In this second book THIN LINES- we are taken to places where you would expect to be taken. You have Cal – who it turns out is Emma’s husbands son not his nephew. Hmm interesting – very interesting. No wonder he likes to take care of his so called uncles children .  As for Cal all he is doing is making sure that his siblings get the attentions and love that deserve. Now Emma is another story- he is trying his best to stay away from her.

But will his uncle let him? Or will he push them together . There are thin lines between Cal & Emma. Should they dare to cross them> As it could mean death.

I recommend this book to all !! Especially those that love a excellent Mafia thriller. Mismousey gives this a firm 90 out of 5 mouse paws!!! NOW ADD THIS TO YOUR GOOD READS READING LIST- THEN RUN AND GET YOUR COPY TODAY!!!

The next book in this series is the final one and it is called Thin Lives . This Mouse can hardly wait for it to come out!! Ms Kris – your books are awesome and amazing. And I have to see how this one ends!!!! You are so very talented  and gifted.
